Why did you choose to apply for the job with this company?This is one question that all candidates will encounter. Please answer the question with an aggressive and positive attitude for a good impression. Inexperienced candidates may express sincerely the motivation and purpose for the job position.

Why did you leave your previous employment?Do not blindly criticize the previous employer for it will make it difficult for you to be hired. In addition, inexperienced candidates may show interest in the nature of the company.

What is your job experience?Candidates must pinpoint the date of each experience with specific job content and expertise detailed. In addition, when filling out a resume, indicate the qualifying examinations with a certificate or license to help increase the chances for employment.

What are the work expectations and goals?Individuals with specific expectations and goals in the work usually mature faster. Candidates can respond to such questions as “My goal is … in order to achieve this goal, I must strive to enrich myself… and I am confident that…”or “It has been my dream since I was a child…”

What do you like about this job?Inexperienced candidates may express why the job is appealing to them and their concerns, such as “easy commute,” “suitable nature of the work,” etc. Experienced candidates may distinguish the intended job position from others to impress the interviewer.

Describe the failure by how it was conquered and resolved, as well as, how the failure is turned into an educational experience.

What is the motive for choosing this job?This type of question is usually targeting inexperienced candidates in order to understand their understanding of the work and to confirm the candidate’s dedications and enthusiasms. Candidates can express their understanding of the work and personal interests for the job position.

What is your take on the industry development?The main purpose is to understand candidate’s understanding and expectations of the current industrial situation; also, to explore the willingness and dedication of the inexperienced candidates; therefore, unique insights are not necessary but positive opinions are. For a job transfer in the industry, candidates shall have a sense of the industrial direction and with personal opinions expressed.

What are your strengths?The purpose is to understand how candidates objectively analyze themselves and to test their expression and organizational capacity. In addition to the personal statement, the comments of friends and relatives can be more persuasive but try to avoid abstract descriptions. Specific personal experiences and self-reflection are more appealing.

What is your expected salary?The question regarding the expected salary should be answered clearly. The reply of “according to company policy” can be deemed as a sign of lack of confidence rather than modesty. Propose a reasonable salary with an objective indication of age, experience, ability, and by industry, company scale, etc.; also, state the reason for a pay raise.

When can you start to work?Reporting to duty upon notice is idealistic; however, a career change is common; therefore, taking time for job transfer with the consideration of giving a notice to the current employer, job responsibility transfer, etc. is more appropriate. If poor planning results in delay in reporting to the new duty may cause problems to the new employer; therefore, detail the situation and report to duty in one month is a reasonable strategy.
